Running a WIC Food Benefit Transaction

To run a WIC food benefit transaction:

  1. Within the MobiWIC main menu click “Transactions”.



  2. The cashier enters their “Cashier Number” and their “Password” using the on-screen keyboard.  Once done the cashier clicks the “Login” button.



  3. The cashier now clicks "Start Transaction" for a new transaction.



  4. The cashier will insert the participants WIC card into the MobiWIC terminal smart card reader. 



  5. It is important that the card is not removed from the terminal during connection.



  6. The participant will now input their PIN into the MobiWIC terminal using the keypad and click "Accept".  The transaction will not proceed unless the correct PIN is entered.



  7. MobiWIC is retrieving the food package balance from the participant’s smart card.  A receipt is printed that displays the WIC beginning balance and the benefits expiration date.  This receipt is given to the participant.



  8. MobiWIC will display a prompt to the user asking "Do you want to print it again?". Click "Yes" or "No" accordingly.



  9. On the next MobiWIC terminal screen the cashier is now ready to begin.   



  10. The cashier can enter the UPC/PLU code by clicking "ADD" or use the barcode scanner to enter items.  After the code is entered the description of the item appears.  Click the “Confirm” button to enter this item.



  11. Items that have grey text in the price and/or quantity fields cannot be modified. If the text appears black you can modify these fields.  When done click the “ADD” button to add the item to the sales transaction.



  12. After all the items have been added, click “Check Out” to subtotal the transaction.  



  13. The WIC Utilization receipt will begin to print.  Click the “No” button if you don't want to print the receipt again. Click the “Yes” button if the receipt did not print successfully and MobiWIC will try to print it again.



  14. To confirm the transaction click "Confirm".  If you click “Cancel” you will return to the item listing screen.


     
  15. MobiWIC updates the smart card balance.



  16. The WIC Ending Balance receipt will begin to print.  Click the “No” button if you don't want to print the receipt again. Click the “Yes” button if the receipt did not print successfully and MobiWIC will try to print it again.



  17. The Cashier Receipt will begin to print.  Click the “No” button if you don't want to print the receipt again. Click the “Yes” button if the receipt did not print successfully and MobiWIC will try to print it again.
  18. Click “OK” to finalize the transaction.  Do not remove the smart card until prompted to do so.



  19. You will now be prompted to "Remove Card" and you will hear a loud tone until it's removed.



  20. The transaction is now complete. To start a new transaction click "Start Transaction". To go back to the main menu click the "Left Arrow" in the top left.

Void an Item Transaction

The cashier is adding items into the MobiWIC terminal and incorrectly puts in the wrong code, price, quantity, etc…  Here’s how to void out an item:

  1. Select the item on the screen that needs to be modified.  


     
  2. On the next screen click the drop-down arrow to select if you have multiple items.



  3. Click "Void".



  4. The voided item(s) will show in your list like this.



  5. Continue to add items, cancel or check out from here.

Cancel a Transaction

If you need to cancel the entire transaction follow the steps below.

  1. Press the “Cancel” button to cancel the transaction.


     
  2. Click "Yes" to confirm.  


     
  3. It will now print the benefits. Click the “No” button if you don't want to print the receipt again. Click the “Yes” button if the receipt did not print successfully and MobiWIC will try to print it again.


     
  4. On the Transaction Voided screen click "OK".



  5. You will then be prompted to remove the card.
